After completing her master’s degree, she went on to work at St. Mary’s Hospital from 1980 to 1985 as the Assistant Director of Medical Records and later became Director. She served as the Director of Medical Records for various institutions, including United Presbyterian and then Four Seasons Nursing Home, for over 35 years until her retirement in 2018. She led multiple staff that she treated as family. In 2007, Anne co-authored Assassination Cry of a Failed Revolution, with her late brother William Gregory Smith based on his life. In 2012 she was an honored member and VIP of their Registry of Executives, Professionals and Entrepreneurs of Who’s Who Worldwide.
