Aston Hamilton Obituary

Aston Gerald Paul Hamilton, affectionately known as Paul, was born on June 18, 1950, in Kingston, Jamaica to Adrian and Marguerite Hamilton.  He was the youngest child born after his two sisters Dollis and Geraldine. As children, Paul and his siblings were very close, and they maintained this strong familial bond all throughout their lives.

Paul attended Kingston College in Kingston, Jamaica and accepted employment with the Water Commission upon his graduation.  He worked in various capacities at the Water Commission up until he immigrated to the United States in 1979. At that time, Paul worked for J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., in the International Letter of Credit Division for many years until his department relocated to Florida.  Thereafter, Paul pursued his passion for automobiles by partnering with his good friend, Raymond Nelson, and opening a car dealership in New Jersey.
Paul met his wife, Marjorie Veronica Bansie, while she was employed at First National City Bank in Kingston, Jamaica. After a brief courtship, Paul and Marjorie were married on July 22, 1972. They had two children, Stuart and Kimberley.  Paul was a very hands-on, attentive father.  Despite Paul and Marjorie’s hectic work schedules, the family always spent a lot of quality time together as the children were growing up. As the years passed, the love and friendship between Paul and Marjorie continued to grow and evolve.  It is bittersweet to consider that they just celebrated their milestone 50-year anniversary this past July of 2022.

Paul had a very fiery personality, loved to laugh, and could easily be the life of the party.  He was very well liked.  Paul had a very animated way of telling stories and humorous anecdotes like no one else.  He also offered words of encouragement to friends and family when they needed it the most. He had a warm spirit and a kind heart which we will never forget.

Anyone who knew him recognized that he was a car enthusiast.  His passion for cars started at an early age, following him throughout his life, and was eventually shared by Stuart.

Paul was also fond of animals, and they loved him too.  He absolutely adored his pet dogs, Coco, Rocco and Rocco II. He often spoke to them, and of them, very affectionately.

He is survived by his wife Marjorie Hamilton, son Stuart Hamilton, daughter Kimberley (Darrius) Peoples, granddaughter Daisy Peoples, sister Geraldine (Derrick) Ward, nephews Steven and Alex Ward, along with many other loving family and friends too numerous to mention. He is preceded in death by his sister Dollis Hamilton and parents, Adrian and Marguerite Hamilton.

As a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, you will be greatly missed and never forgotten. Until we meet again.
