Mr. Daniel Winthrop Mason passed away on Saturday, February 20th at the age of 82. Known better to friends and family as “Mr. Dan”, he was a devout Christian, husband, father, and grandfather who devoted his time to mentoring others and sharing his love of music, art, and the Lord with everyone he encountered.
Dan began his military career in the United States Army. After serving several years as a Chaplain’s Assistant, he later applied and was accepted into Officer Candidate School. He achieved the Officer Rank of 2nd Lieutenant before concluding his military career. After his service to our country, he went on to meet and marry his beautiful wife Carol in 1971. Later in 1978, Dan and Carol welcomed their son, Daniel Christopher, into the world. Dan chose to continue his legacy of service to his community throughout his career in Social Work for the State of New York until retirement. Throughout retirement, Dan loved to spend time with his wife, family, and friends at their Lake House located on the East End of Long Island. He also continued to share his faith and love of our Lord by blessing many church parishes with his gift and love of playing the organ during events and services.
