On January 11, 1952, Davidson P. Johnson was born to Neatha Lewis and Daniel Johnson in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
It was in his home village of Stubbs that he attended Stubbs Primary School, and later attended Bishops College Secondary, and then Saint Vincent Technical College where he studied Design. As Dave‘s career was budding he also was happy to become the proud father of Coretta and Hasley.
He migrated to Canada for a short period of time before his brother Renna influenced him to make the big move to New York where he called home for 43 years. Throughout the years he worked for Klearfax as a graphic designer as well as New Dimensions. It was there at New Dimensions where he met Cindy, the love of his life who in 1985 became his wife. From their 23 year union, their daughter Jaclyn was born. Dave was truly multifaceted, and a Jack of all Trades, including his training in electrical and phone systems and he was happy to retire in 2018.
On January 11, 2015, Dave’s 63rd birthday, his youngest grandson and best friend Avery was born. Dave often referred to him as “my little man” or “Mr. President”. Although he was retired, Dave took on a new job as Avery’s Personal Assistant. He woke up early every morning to take Avery to school, he would always consult Avery’s schedule before making any plans, picked him up from school and made sure to be present for dinner, bath and bed time and he would get up to do it all over again the very next day.
It is evident that Dave has left an indelible mark on so many with his kindness, generosity and the fact that he would bend over backwards for those he loved. He was an amazing soul with a beautiful smile and contagious laugh. He brought a certain light to the lives of those that knew him. Unfortunately, that light was extinguished for so many of us on September 12th 2022 and he will be greatly missed.
He leaves to cherish his memory: Loving Daughters: Jaclyn and Coretta (Andrew); Grandchildren: Avery, Aneika, Keenan, Alexia, Avaiya, Alisha and his Grandpup: Bodie; Great grandson: Kingsley; and His beloved: Cindy; a host of brothers and sisters, and a whole lot of nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins and friends.
