Doris F. Van Bellinghen

In loving memory of Doris Van Bellinghen, who passed away on Weds. 11/2 after a short illness. Doris was 96 years old. She was a loving wife of Louis (deceased) and mother of three children, Robert and his wife Sheri, Theresa and husband Robert Swanda, and Mary. She has two grandchildren, Andrew and wife Theresa Van Bellinghen, Lynn and husband Steve McDonnell, three great grandsons, William and Collin McDonnell, and Thomas Van Bellinghen. Doris was born in Huron, South Dakota but her family moved West to Oregon to escape the Great dust bowl that destroyed their farm. She lived there until her 18th year when she married Louis and moved to Hempstead with her husband. Doris may be remembered by Hempstead residents as a Girl Scout Leader and Girl Scout community organizer. She worked for many years at the A. Holly Patterson home for the aged. She spent her retirement years in researching her family genealogy and traveling the world. She will be missed by all who knew her.
