Francis was a God fearing, kind and caring man, who always had words of encouragement to give to you in times of need. He had the ability to make you laugh even at the time you thought laughing was impossible. He willingly extended his knowledge and experiences along with a helping hand to anyone in need.
Francis is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Marlene Greenidge, three children, Meichelle, Donnie and Monique, brother Hilan, son-in-law James Wright, daughter-in-law Candace Greenidge, seven grandchildren Jenell, Tionne, Jaremiah, Ester Samuel, Aaron, and Abigail and a host of relatives and friends.
Francis was a man of great integrity who worked tirelessly to ensure his family had everything they needed, he worked at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority simultaneously retired in 2006 and moved back to Trinidad and Tobago. Francis retired from the clock but not from work, he continued to work with underprivileged youth mentoring orphan boys. Francis opened a business and remodeled an apartment building on his own. Francis was a father figure/example to many.
Francis was a man who loved God and it was shown by his dedication to his home of worship Little Jerusalem House of Praise, were he was lovingly known as Sheppard Francis, he loved to cook, travel, most of all he loved spending time with his family.
There are no words that can fully describe what a father means and the impact that they have on a person’s life. For some fathers are heroes who provide and protect. Others look to father figures as the hands that guided them through life. And while it’s hard to measure his influence, it’s even more difficult to articulate what it’s like to lose him.
Francis Greenidge though you may not be here with us physically, you will always be here in our hearts we love you more that words can say.
