Harry Pierre Obituary

In Loving Memory of Harry Pierre Harry Pierre, aged 66, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience. Born in Pétion-Ville, Haiti, on April 28, 1958, Harry brought joy to everyone he encountered. Harry was a man of extraordinary warmth and generosity. From a young age, he valued education and pursued it passionately, completing his studies at the Lycée of Pétion-Ville and Collège Roger Anglade before moving to New York in 1983. There, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication Arts, graduating cum laude in 1988. While his career included work as a realtor and later various odd jobs, Harry was defined by his vibrant spirit more than his work. Known for his infectious laughter and larger-than-life personality, Harry lit up every room he entered. Whether he was dancing with abandon, telling a great story, or cooking his signature eggs for family breakfasts, he left an unforgettable mark on everyone around him. Harry shared a special bond with his children. He gave his son, Al Harry Pierre, the affectionate nickname "Tonton," calling it out in his distinctive voice, bringing a smile to everyone who heard it. When his daughter, Melissa Pierre, was born, the family eagerly wondered what he would call her. True to form, Harry surprised everyone with a name that made perfect sense: "Toutou." These playful, loving nicknames became a testament to his creativity and the deep love he had for his children. Harry is also survived by his cherished granddaughter, Milan Pierre; his brothers, Baussan M. Pierre and Jean Baptiste Pierre; and his sisters, Marie Michelle Pierre and Edelyne Pierre. He leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends and allies around the world who will forever hold his memory close. He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers. A devoted father, godfather, brother, and friend, Harry lived a life that was unforgettable. He shared his gifts freely—whether through his hilarious jokes, soulful dances, or small but meaningful gestures like making breakfast—and made everyone around him feel valued and loved. His absence leaves a void, but his spirit will continue to inspire us to live life with the same vibrancy, kindness, and authenticity he so effortlessly embodied. Harry will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
