Juliette Bristol Jean, 88, of Uniondale, NY went to be with the Lord September 23, 2020. Juliette was born December 25, 1931 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti to the late Murat Desir and Olincia Jean. She was one of five children. She was raised by her late godmother, Altagrace Bristol and her family, including late husband, Pierre Bristol and late daughter Carmen Bristol, who played pivotal roles in the upbringing of Juliette. She was predeceased by sister Carmelita Desir, brothers, Francois Desir and Yves Desir. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Wilner (Nene) Jean, daughter, Jocelyne (Joujou) Bristol, grandsons, Reginald Hector, Don V. Hector Sr., Brian A. Hector, great-grandsons, Don V. Hector Jr., Julian A. Hector, and Jackson N. Hector, sister, Marie Desir, niece, Alourdes Saint-Fleur (Lafargue) and many other nieces and nephews, stepson, Joseph Anderson Jean and wife Laure Jean, stepson Ronel Jean and wife Madeleine Jean, stepson Wilmy Jean and his wife Angela, stepdaughter Juliana Casseus (Jean) and husband Frantz, and all their children. Other family members include Ketly Nelson, Tarah Cameau Martelly, Elsie Bristol, and Dominique Bristol.
Juliette was a devoted Catholic, wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, along with aunt, friend, and a great neighbor. Her continuous loving support to husband Nene and daughter Joujou was unquestioned and unmatched. She was Maman Soune to the rest of us; she dedicated herself to her family and worked relentlessly to support and love everyone equally. Her sacrifices were unlimited and she did not hesitate to open her heart and home to anyone who needed it. She will forever be remembered as a giver and will be missed greatly. We all know that she will be looking down to protect us all she loved on Earth. She was our shining light and will continue to be from Heaven!
