Kettly Jean-Baptiste
February 21, 1948 – May 26, 2024
Kettly Jean-Baptiste, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2024, in Uniondale, NY. She was born on February 21, 1948, in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti, to Dantes and Nelia Joseph.
Kettly was a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse and Certified OR Nurse, having obtained her Associates Degree from Nassau Community College and her Bachelors Degree in Nursing from Malloy College. Her career was marked by her commitment to the care and well-being of her patients while working at Franklin General Hospital for almost 30 years where she was highly respected by her friends, colleagues and the many lives she touched.
Kettly is survived by her siblings Evelyn, Lionel, Bobby, Micheline, Dantes Jr. and Nelia. Her children Florence, Sandy, Smith Jr. and their father Smith, Sr. as well as her daughter-in-law Jeanette and son-in-law Duane. Her grandchildren, Kristina, Kayla, Celeena, Brianna, Bianca, Gabby, Skai, and Elijah, were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Kettly was a very active person who enjoyed exercising and walking outdoors to keep herself fit and healthy. Traveling and taking cruises around the world while also staying at to home to watch her favorite tv shows or to spend quality time with her family. Her love for her family and her close friends was evident in all she did, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
