it is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and devoted church member, Marie Ange DeJean-Duval, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the age of 81.Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, on October 21, 1943, to the late Robert DeJean and Anne Joseph, Marie Ange was the cherished older sister of Suze Manigat. From her early years, she exemplified a spirit of resilience, kindness, and grace that touched everyone she encountered. A woman of deep Catholic faith, Marie Ange was unwavering in her spiritual devotion. She regularly attended Mass and found great joy and comfort in her prayer group community, with whom she traveled and worshiped faithfully. Her spirituality was the guiding force of her life, and it radiated through her words, her actions, and her enduring compassion for others.Marie Ange had a long and dedicated career in the health care industry, working tirelessly to serve and support others with love and professionalism. Her work was not just a job—it was a reflection of her purpose-driven life and her heart for healing. Family and friends were drawn not only to her wisdom and warmth but also to her extraordinary culinary skills. Her kitchen was the heart of every celebration, and she was lovingly sought after to create the perfect cake or sweet treat for special occasions. Baking was her love language, and through it, she left a legacy of joy and comfort. Marie Ange was a strong, spirited woman whose generosity knew no bounds. She gave freely of her time, her talents, and her love, and her life was a beautiful example of faith in action. Marie Ange shared a beautiful and enduring love with her late husband Pierre Wifred Duval whose memory she held close to her heart every day. Together, they created a home filled with love. One of the most cherished traditions they shared was hosting an annual July barbecue that brought together family and friends from near and far. These joyful gatherings were filled with good food, music, dancing, and lasting memories—moments that strengthened bonds and celebrated the gift of togetherness. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were blessed to know her.She is survived by her children:Patrick Dejean, Gregory, Fritz & Juliet , Mitchell & Rosline Mirville, Ralph, Katuiscia, Ann Marie Duval-Pitaud, Jean G Duval.
