Marie Rose Marcelle Volcy aka Granny Maco was a cherished mother, grandmother, friend, and devoted community member. She passed away peacefully on Saturday March 22nd at the age of 100 years old. She was a strong and spirited woman born in Port au prince Haiti in November 1924. She lived there for 85 years then moved to the US in 2010 to be close to her grandchildren. She is leaving behind a legacy of love, solidarity and warmth. Rose Marcelle was the beloved wife of Delea Volcy for 40 years, and together they raised a family of 4 children of whom only 1 daughter survived, Immacula She was an ardent grandmother to Ingrid and France and a source of support and comfort to her whole family. She found great pleasure in raising her children and was a passionate member of her church community for most of her life. Rose Marcelle was a pillar of strength, resilience and kindness, always willing to lend an ear and a helping hand to friends and neighbors. Her memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved her. She is survived by her loving daughter Immacula, and granddaughters France and Ingrid Jasmin Service Details: • A memorial service will be held on Saturday March 29, 2025 at 8am at St Martha’s Church in Uniondale, NY • There will be a short viewing session prior to mass from 6:30 to 7:30 am • She will be laid to rest at St Charles Cemeteries in Farmindale, NY. • Repast will be at her primary residence in Baldwin from 12- 4pm Final Words: Dear Granny Maco, I wish you didn’t have to go but I know you were tired and now I am comforted by the thought of you being in eternal peace. I will miss you so very much and i will hold all the good memories we share deeply. Your journey here is done and you can rest now. You deserve to be in God’s arms so this isn’t goodbye, I know we will see each other again but until then you will remain in our hearts. Your love and laughter will forever be a part of us. Rest in peace.
