Nelson Perez Obituary

Nelson Antonio Perez, known to many as Antonio, passed away in September 2026 at the age of 63. He was a resident of Uniondale, New York.

Antonio was born and raised in El Caimito, Dominican Republic, to Maria S. Estevez and the late Jose M. Perez. He grew up alongside his siblings, Virgilio, Miguel, and Kenia, before later making his home in New York.

More than anything, Antonio was a devoted father to his three children, Jessenia, Nelson Anthony, and Elvis. His love for them was shown in the everyday ways he cared for them. Trips to the playground cost nothing, but he took them faithfully simply because being with his children mattered to him. That devotion remained throughout their lives, and those ordinary moments became some of their most treasured memories.

Antonio was also a proud and loving grandfather to Isabella, Isaac, Matilyn, and Valentina, and always enjoyed receiving new pictures and videos of them.

He had a gentle, easygoing nature and often met life with a simple “it is what it is.” He was curious about new things, enjoyed understanding how things worked, and loved talking with people. He was also wonderfully silly, always ready with a joke or a cheesy dad joke just to get a smile, or an eye roll, from someone he loved.

Antonio is survived by his daughter, Jessenia Richards, her husband Francil Richards, and their children, Isabella and Isaac; his son, Nelson Anthony Perez, his wife Elizabeth Perez, and their children, Matilyn and Valentina; and his son, Elvis Perez. He is also survived by his mother, Maria S. Estevez; his siblings, Virgilio, Miguel, and Kenia; and his extended family and loved ones. He was preceded in death by his father, Jose M. Perez.

Antonio will be remembered for his humor, his gentleness, his curiosity, and the kindness he showed to others. But to his children, he will be remembered most simply as Papi, the man who cooked their dinners, took them to the park, made them laugh, and was there.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly welcomes memorial contributions toward Antonio’s funeral and final arrangements. Contributions may be made via Venmo at:

The family is deeply grateful for the love, kindness, and support shown during this difficult time.
