Our Beautiful. Nirlene Marie Alexandre, better known as Tite’Lene went home to our Lord on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at the age of 74, after her battle with cancer.
Nirlene Marie Alexandre was born on March 21, 1950 in her proud beautiful country, Jacmel, Haiti. She was born to parents, Lucia Nina Alexandre Daniel (d) and Antoine Willard Daniel (d). Nirlene was the second eldest of 9 siblings, Michel Reynold (d), Elsie, Claudie, Pierre Richard (d), Francesca, Carline, Marie, and Antoine Willard Jr. (d). She completed her schooling in Haiti.
Nirlene came to the U.S. on March 19, 1971, where she made Flatbush Brooklyn, NY her home with her mother, father and siblings. In 1972, she began working in the cafeteria at AT&T in the World Trade Center. In 1973, she welcomed her daughter, Joanne Marie Gugel. In 1978, she began working for Morgan Stanley in the Accounts Payable Department. Some days, she worked tirelessly long hours, went above and beyond. She loved her job. In 1986, she welcomed her son, Christopher Alexandre. She then made Jamaica, Queens her home with her children in 1988. Her greatest wish was to have a house for her and her children, so she bought a beautiful home in Uniondale, Long Island in 1996. In 2004, she retired from Morgan Stanley. She decided that she wanted to work again and began working for McKesson in 2005. In 2014, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and the following year, she had surgery and proceeded to get radiation along with chemotherapy. She fought cancer and refused to let it beat her. She was a TRUE WARRIOR. She then retired from McKesson in 2020. In 2024, she was re-diagnosed to cancer that began to spread. Even then, she continued to fight hard every day to not let it beat her.
Nirlene was a devoted mother who cherished spending time with her children and assisted a great deal in raising her grandson. She was an amazing mother who was always there when her children needed her, always there to lend a helping hand to her family, always offering support to whoever needed, she gave wisdom, and an abundance of love. She was the VERY BEST grandmother to her only grandson, Michael Hill Jr. She enjoyed hosting all holiday dinners as she always cooked for all. Everyone loved her home cook meals. The house would be filled with family and friends. She was full of love, laughter, strength, grace, humbleness, and resilience. She touched the lives of all who knew her. Family was extremely important to her.
She was predeceased by her father, mother, and three brothers. She leaves behind her daughter Joanne, her son Christopher, her grandson Mike, siblings and host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces & nephews, great, great nieces & nephews, and along with countless friends
