Reginald Lee Obituary

Deacon Reginald Edward Lee son of the late Gaines A. Lee and Etta Lee was born on August 22, 1932, in Stanley County North Carolina. He was the fourth of five children. Deacon Lee called Reg by his friends was raised in a family community, that instilled a passion for education and spirituality.

Deacon Lee graduated from Kingsville Highschool in Albemarle  North Carolina, he then  proceeded to  attend North Carolina A&T State University. After Attending college Deacon Lee enlisted into the United States  Marine Corps where he served for  three years and was promoted to the  position of company clerk, He was then formally honorably discharged form the service on January 8,1961 with the rank of sergeant.

 Following his release  from the service Deacon Lee relocated  to Brooklyn New York, where he then held a position  with the Unites States Postal Service. Not one to settle for less in his career this led him to pursue a career with the Metropolitan Transit Authority where he rose to the position of towerman, dispatcher and finally  supervisor until his retirement. During his  retirement  he enjoyed traveling, barbecuing, going to sporting events, attending church and spending time with family members especially his cousin Melvin Bull.

Deacon Lee married the love of his life Margaret Ruth Lee and were blessed with  a marriage that lasted 66 years whereas God then blessed their union with six wonderful children. Family and serving God was a primary focus in his life whereas he held positions in the community in which he lived as a cub scout den leader and a baseball coach with Hempstead PAL. Deacon Lee would always tell you his proudest moments other than marrying the love of his life was how proud his children made him feel, even as his health decline he was always proud of what they have become and how they stood by him in his time of need.

Deacon Lee began his service in the Church of God In Christ where he was Deacon at Refuge Apostolic Church of Christ in Freeport, NY. In 2005 he transitioned to continue in his Godly mannerism where he served again as a Senior Deacon  of the First Baptist Cathedral of Westbury, under the leadership of Bishop Lionel Harvey where he served as a member of the Men Ministry and the Deacon Ministry for over twenty years. To know Deacon Lee is to know that he loved the Lord with all his heart and soul, and he as always strived to live his life in accordance with God word. To quote Deacon Lee  favorite scripture is Proverbs 103;1(KJV) “Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name” . 

Deacon Lee by all accounts left a loving impression on  everyone he met whether it was by a word of encouragement, a handshake or by the way he carried  himself as he praised the Lord for all his greatness.

Deacon Lee leaves the following to cherish his memory wife Margaret Ruth Lee, his sister Barbara Holston his daughters Annetta Lee, and Regina Lee, his sons Michael Lee, Jerome Lee, David Lee and Noah Lee , one daughter-n-law Angela,  two grand children Amber and Cameron and one great grandson Ever and countless nieces, nephews and cousins.
