Rosy Lubin Rigueur Obituary

In Loving Memory…

Rosy "Manmite Rosy" Rigueur was born on September 12, 1941, in Les Cayes, Haiti. She was one of five children and the beloved daughter of Edgar and Felicie Neptune Lubin.

She received her formal education in Les Cayes and Port-Au-Prince before beginning her career in Haiti. In time, Rosy migrated to Brooklyn, New York, and then to Uniondale, New York, where she worked for the NYC Health Department for 30 years while she built a life for herself and her family.

She was the proud mother of three children- two sons and one daughter.

Rosy lived life with a vibrant, fiery spirit and a joyful heart. And she was well known for her love of Haitian music. Her favorite Haitian Jazz bands were Grand Orchestre Septentrional and Orchestre Tropicana d'Haïti.

Family and community, however, were always her greatest treasures. Rosy was known for opening her home to family and friends from Haiti looking to relocate and establish themselves in the US.  She would often travel to Haiti, Florida and Connecticut to see her family, children and grandchildren. In her later years, Rosy found great joy in simply speaking to her daughter on a daily basis or taking a long day trip to see her son.

Rosy will be remembered for her energy, her warmth, her humor, passion for education, her devotion to family, her strong love and the joy she brought into the lives of all who knew her. Her laughter, her love of life, and her presence will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her husband, Delva; sister, Elcy; her children, Rejeanne and Philip; her late son, Vladimir (RIP); her grandchildren, Sebastien, Patricia, Austin, Audrey and Jameson; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

WE LOVE YOU ALWAYS AND FOREVER

OUR MOTHER, SISTER, AUNT AND, GRANDMOTHER.
