In loving memory of Roy Baker, who passed away peacefully on June 1ST,2026,at Mercy Hospital on Long Island.He was born on December 24th,1947 at # 19 Village,Warren, Corentyne, Berbice,Guyana. Roy attended Bohemia Primary School where he subsequently became a teacher. He later became a police officer and went to work at Mahaica police station. He then immigrated to the United States, where he served in the United States army. Upon completion of service, he became an employee at Columbia/Sony pictures where he worked in the capacity of Chief Accountant until his retirement. He is survived by his ex-wife Linda Baker and their children Jennifer and Luis. He is also survived by his current spouse Doreen Baker and her children Raja, Pamela, Rishi, Terry and Loveina. Roy was the son of the late Reginald and Rosa Baker and was the brother of Theresa Phillips, Michael Baker, Ronald Baker, Olive Budhoo, Neville Baker and Dixie, Maureen and Rita. He was the uncle of Theresa, Patricia, Anthony, Bernard, Vincent, Kevin, David, Tiffany,Terrence Baker, Susan,Sonia and Alicia Phillips and Marvin and Sally Budhoo.
He was the brother in law of Basmattie {Lelo} Idalene, {Omattie} and Shanti Baker. Also the late Claude Phillips and MooniRam Budhoo and Rose, nephew of the late Cyril Baker and Elfrieda Ferguson and Lucille Baijnauth. Cousin of Barbara, Eric, Phillip, Hilton, Jim, Joseph, Romeo {Bacob} Buddy, Pamela Debra Eric. The late Ruth, Compton,Rudolph Ferguson Roy, Romeo, Merlin, Doreen, Dennis, Pansy, and Joey. Also,Sumintra {Pearl} and the late Deonarine Seenarine, Indira Moskowitz, Lolita Latchana, Anna Lochan Nelson and Naipaul Dhanpaul
Roy was a quiet and Generous Person. He was a devoted husband /father/ brother and cousin and friend. He was always available to anyone who needed him. He will be surely missed by everyone who knew him. May God give him a place to rest and may his soul rest in peace.
