Shawn Denise Moody

Our daughter/sister/friend, Shawn Denise Moody, left us unexpectedly but peacefully surrounded by her family and friends on May 7, 2023, at the age of 50.

Shawn was predeceased in death by her father, Lemuel Moody. She is survived by her mother, Catherine Moody, two sisters, Eydie Moody and Tyro Jackson, two nephews, Captain Ziaire O’Brien (wife Briana O’Brien) and Drakkar Jackson, two nieces, Omni Jackson and Gari Forehand, her best friend of 20+ years, Jocelyn Asopardo, two great nieces, Paisley Jackson, and Sophia-Grace O’Brien, three great nephews, Payton Jackson, Paxton Jackson and Parker Jackson as well as a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

Shawn was born at Meadow Hospital in East Meadow, New York. She grew up in Roosevelt, New York where she attended Queen of the Most Holy Rosary and graduated from Roosevelt Jr-Sr High School. She later attended Farmingdale State College and ITT for computers. She was an employee of the United States Postal Service for 25+ years and most recently in the position of Machine Mechanic.

Shawn was a fun spirited soul who had many passions including bowling, gaming, drawing, computers as well as being an avid guitar player. She was a beautiful person inside and out with a smile that could light up a room. She was kind and passionate with a love for animals, but her greatest love was her family and friends. She had such an impact on many lives. Shawn will forever be missed. Until we meet again….
