Vilbon Forcilus, 92, of Long Island, NY, passed away on July 14, 2025. Vilbon was born on February 25, 1933, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, to the late Vilme Forcilus and Zabelle Jean. A hardworking and intelligent man, Vilbon began working at the age of 13 to help support his mother and siblings. Over the years, he built a life as a house contractor and worked as a taxi and bus driver in Haiti. Vilbon was married twice and was the proud father of 14 children, four of whom proceeded to his deaths. In 2003, he moved to the United States and continued his journey of hard work and dedication. He works as a bus matron in Suffolk County where he retired from. He lived with his daughter, Venide and surrounded by the love and support of his other children and grandchildren. Vilbon deeply cherished his family. He is known for his vibrant personality and joyful spirit. He loved dancing, listening to music, telling jokes, and watching Hatians shows. He especially enjoyed playing cards and dominos with his sons. Often filling the room with laughter as he teased others during the game. One of his favorite ways to stay connected was through FaceTime calls with his children, which brought him endless joy. He will be remembered for his warmth, humor, resilience, and deep love for his family. Vilbon is survived 10 children: Bertha, Vilaire married to Marie Michelle, Elienne married to Phito, Vilbert married to Donyel, Elmita married to Jean Bernard, Wally married to Maggie, Gene married to Louna, Venide married to Stanley, Isabelle married to Kelly. Vilbon is also survived by his grandchildren from Bertha: Marie Danielle, Manouchka, Jean Berthley, Junior Jean Claude, Frantz Berthol, Marie Daniella. Grand children by Deceased Monfils: Carl Henry Fontilus Grand children by deceased Bernard: Berlina, Marie Andre and BenGaddi. Grand children by deceased Vivianne: Islande Grand kids from Vilaire: Emmanuel, Shiller, Genevieve, Handley, Helen, Tamarra Grand kids from Elienne: Vaughn and Vanessa Grand kids from Vilbert: Vilbert Junior and Vincent Grand kids from Elmita: Rachel and Tonisha Granddaughter from Wally: Jasmine Grandson from Margarette: Hillerson Orelien Grand kids from Gene: Prince and Bella Grands kids from Venide: Kenley,and Annella Grand kids from Isabelle: Kelvin, Ishmael, and Annabelle. Great grand-children: Marie Angela, Derbusson, Staniella, Clara, Aicha Janyah, Jaden, Sanah, Nathan, Sephora, Tabitha, Hadassa, Zoeh, Hanley, Elijah. Vilbon will be forever cherished by his loving survived sister Elmina, his brother Gaspard, and many other siblings and extended family members cousins' nieces and nephews who mourn his loss. Vilbon is preceded in death by his sister Jacqueline, brother's: Jacques, Breno, Ismagua, Valentin, Wilson, Ophane, and his beloved children Monfils, Bernard, Viviane and Elvita. His legacy of love, laughter, faith, and family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
