Vilma Boodhramsingh

Our beloved mother Vilma Andrea Boodhramsingh sadly passed away at the age of 76 on September 27th, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Long Island, New York after a very courageous battle. She was born on November 30th, 1946, to Boodhram and Maltina Singh in San Juan, Trinidad. From there she would go on to meet and settle with our father Oswald Happying Soo Yam and their four children in the nearby town of St. Joseph. She was an excellent wife, mother, grandmother, relative and friend to all she knew, and we will miss her tremendously. No one could deny mommy's cooking skills; many tried but could never replicate her various dishes. She was also an excellent homemaker who gave up the independence of working to be a stay-at-home mother and wife for her family and it was through this that we were given the unwavering love and support of a great woman. She was predeceased by our dad Happying, her parents Boodhram and Maltina, her siblings Vernon, Rupert, Franklyn, Anthony (Boy), Merle and Shirley. She will be survived by her children Roney, Oswald Jr., Elizabeth and Melissa, her grandchildren Natalia, Solange, Roger, Jenelle, Jaron, Jada, Liam, Xanaya and Xander, her great grandson Marcellus, her son in law Nigel and daughters in law Jan and Erica, her sisters Grace, Gemma, Patricia and Lydia and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
